Día del Refresco

"Me & My baby (SATURDAY Nights)"

Is there such a thing as too much of a good thing?
I ask myself that everyday
That is until the weekend comes and the sun has gone away to sleep
Then there's only one thing on my mind (a good time)

That's right

Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(SATURDAY)
Yeah, Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(SATURDAY)

With The dancing and the singing,
like the weekdays never happened
I could be, I should be dancing right now 'cause

Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(SATURDAY)
Yeah, Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(SATURDAY)

The talk of the town is where we're headed next
cause everywhere we go is the best
(The very, very best)

It doesn't matter the company but we're pretty good company
for you to have around
(Around, Around, Around)

And Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(SATURDAY)
Yeah, Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, Saturday nights
(Me & My Baby love, love, SATURDAY)

With the dancing and the singing,
like the weekdays never happened
I could be, I should be dancing right now 'cause

Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(Me & My Baby love, love, SATURDAY)
Yeah, Me and my baby love SATURDAY ni-ha-ha-haights
(Me & My Baby love, love, SATURDAY)

Here we go...my baby & I, My baby and I-hai...My baby!
We're goin' Dancin' tonight!

The dull-drum of the work week gets me feeling down
misery and sorrow follow us around

But when that music hits and the band starts to play
Please, you better get out of our way

'Cause Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(Me & My Baby love, love, SATURDAY)
Yeah, Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(Me & My Baby love, love, SATURDAY)
Me and my baby love SATURDAY nights, SATURDAY nights
(Me & My Baby love, love, SATURDAY)
Me & My Baby love, love, SATURDAY

Cat Stevens - Izitso (1977 UK)

Remember the days of the old schoolyard
We used to laugh a lot, oh don't you
Remember the days of the old schoolyard
When we had imaginings and we had
All kinds of things and we laughed
And needed love... Yes, I do
Oh and I remember you
Remember the days of the old schoolyard
We used to cry a lot, oh don't you
Remember the days of the old schoolyard
When we had simplicity and we had
Warm toast for tea and we laughed
And needed love.. Yes, I do
Oh and I remember you

You were my sweet love, my first sweet love
My lovey dove, my love lovey dove
No matter what place, whichever the place
I still see your face, your smiling face
In childish dreams, inside my dreams
Like king and queen, God save our dreams
N'though time may face, though time may fade
It ain't never too late, to learn about love
Learn about love

Remember the days of the old schoolyard
We used to laugh a lot, oh don't you
Remember the days of the old schoolyard
When we had imaginings and we had
All kinds of things and we laughed
And needed love... Yes, I do
Oh and I remember you

Por cierto, "(I Never Wanted) To Be A Star" fue single en Alemania y España.

I was seventeen, you were working for Matthew and Son
The Beatles met the Queen and I wrote
I'm gonna get me a gun, yeah yeah
It was like a dream in the star machine and oh no, is it so, is it so?

I never wanted to be a star, I never wanted to travel far
I only wanted a little bit of love
So I could put a little love in my heart

I never wanted to be la de da, go to parties 'avec le bourgeois'
I only wanted to sing my song well
So I could ring a small bell in your heart
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I was on the road, sleeping between lorry lights, oh no
Stone drunk and cold, headin' into a bad night, yeah yeah
Just another bean in the star machine
Hi ho, here I go, here I go

I never wanted to be a star, buy my mum a Ferrari car
I only want to run my own race
So I could win a small place in your heart
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Nature found a way, it picked me up off the dark side, yeah yeah
Showed me another day, it made me sing, I think I see the light
Not another bean in the star machine
Oh no, this time I won't go

"SATURDAY Night"

There's 52 ways to murder anyone
One or two are the same,
And they both work as well
I'm coming clean for Amy,
Julie doesn't scream as well
And the cops won't listen all night
And so maybe, maybe I'll be over
Just as soon as I fill them all in

And I can remember when I saw her last
We were running all around and having a blast
But the back seat of the drive-in
Is so lonely without you
I know when you're home
I was thinking about you,
There was was something I forgot to say
I was crying on a SATURDAY night
I was out cruising without you,
They were playing our song
Crying on SATURDAY night

As the moon becomes the night time
You go viciously, quietly away
I'm sitting in the bedroom,
Where we used to sit and smoke cigarettes
Now I'm watching, watching you die

I can remember when I saw her last
We were running all around and having a blast
But the back seat of the drive-in
Is so lonely without you
I know when you're home
I was thinking about you,
There was was something I forgot to say
I was crying on a SATURDAY night
I was out cruising without you,
They were playing our song
Crying on SATURDAY night

The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man (1965 US)

"Tuesday Through SATURDAY"

A man could break his back to find
A structured life and peace of mind
Tuesday through SATURDAY
Tuesday through SATURDAY

A steady job, an honest wage
Through disappointment and decay
Tuesday through SATURDAY
Tuesday through SATURDAY

All that remains
Is always the same
Always
Don't keep me waiting

Sunday we spend behind closed doors
Monday is just the day before
Tuesday through SATURDAY
Tuesday through SATURDAY

All that remains
Is always the same
Always
Don't keep me waiting

I know that I can make it through
I think of coming home to you
Tuesday through SATURDAY
Tuesday through SATURDAY
Tuesday through SATURDAY
Tuesday through SATURDAY
